digoDial

Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the digoDial app for macOS handles your data. For the website, the privacy notice applies.

Summary

digoDial collects, transmits, sells and shares no personal data. There is no developer account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything the app stores stays on your Mac, and it talks only to the devices in your own network that you enter yourself.

What the app stores, and where

  • Settings (PBX address, extension, device channel, context, directories, mailbox) live locally in the app's sandbox container in the macOS user defaults.
  • Passwords (AMI access, LDAP bind, an optional HTTP header, the login to the phone) live in the macOS keychain. They are never written to a plain text file and are sent only to the device you entered, inside your own network.
  • The call journal is a database file in the app's sandbox container on your Mac. It holds direction, number, resolved name, extension, outcome and timestamps of calls, and is never transmitted anywhere.

Access to Contacts

For name resolution digoDial reads the contacts on your Mac if you grant the permission. The matching happens on the device, nothing from the address book is transmitted. The permission can be withdrawn at any time in System Settings; the app then carries on without that source.

Network connections

The app only opens connections to devices you entered yourself:

  • To your PBX over the Asterisk Manager Interface, to set up calls, receive events, transfer, hang up and to read and set do not disturb and the voicemail counter.
  • To your LDAP directory, if you configure one, to find a name for a number.
  • To your own HTTP endpoint, if you configure one, again only for name resolution.
  • To your phone, if you set up answering through the device, to press the answer key there.

Purchase and trial are handled by macOS through Apple's Mac App Store (StoreKit). The app only learns whether the full version was bought or the trial was started, and when. Apple's privacy policy applies; nothing is passed to the developer in the process.

There are no other network connections and no third-party SDKs. Nothing is sent to the developer. Whether that holds can be checked with any packet capture.

Data retention and deletion

Since all data lives on your device, you stay in control of it. The call journal can be cleared in the app. Deleting the app removes its settings and its journal; keychain entries can additionally be removed with Keychain Access.

Children

digoDial is not directed at children and collects personal data from no one.
